Automating court forms has been around for over 20 years. Maybe you've seen presentations about CALI's A2J Author document assembly platform and how it can be a powerful tool for teaching law students about legal tech and the access to justice crisis. You've wondered how techie you really need to be to automate a court form or to teach a course using A2J Author. This session is for you. We're going to automate a basic court form in under an hour! Bring your laptop and be prepared to try your hand at document automation (it's more fun than it sounds). You'll walk away from this session with the basic form automation tech lingo, an understanding of how document assembly works at a high level, knowledge of where to find the technology and resources to learn more, exercises to practice your new automation skills, and an excitement to bring this back to your own law school course.
